Why do household chores interest robotics?
A common task brings together objects, movements and decisions. When organizing a drawer, for example, you recognize what is inside, hold pieces and decide where to place them. Videos can record part of this sequence for studies of perception and understanding of activities. This does not mean that a robot learns to run it immediately while watching.
The scientific interest does not make any recording eligible for payment. The campaign needs to request that activity and accept the material according to your criteria. Please refer to your account list before preparing a session.
Washing dishes and organizing the kitchen
If the task is available, prepare the stand position so that interaction with the utensils can be seen. Before you start, check if tap, sink or cabinets hide your hands. Avoid leaving documents, labels with personal data or screens in the camera range.
Water and motion can change the frame. Preserve the safety of the device and use only the appropriate accessories. Do not create a longer activity, do not repeat the same action artificially and do not use any more cleaning products to increase recorded time.
Folding clothes, making the bed and organizing objects
These tasks help you view manipulation sequences when requested. To fold a piece, make sure the surface and hands remain in the camera field. When organizing objects, keep the actual task and make it visually clear the start and conclusion.
Other people’s clothes, photos and mail can reveal personal information. Review the space. If someone else enters the frame, check the instructions for discarding or re-recording; do not assume you can edit the file later.
Sweep, clean surfaces and take care of plants
Activities with displacement require attention to support and space. Check if the camera follows the task, instead of pointing to the ceiling or to a wall during most of the session. Do not make exaggerated movements to try to demonstrate the action better.
Choose only what you can safely perform. An announced task is no reason to climb into unstable locations, mix products or film in a third party area. Recordings at work also depend on authorization to use the environment and not expose customers or colleagues.
How to choose the first task
Compare three points: activity released into the account, ability to perform it normally and filming conditions. Please start with a task that you already do and whose result you can follow in the application. See duration and specific limits; there is no valid single duration in this guide for all sessions.
After uploading, use the return of the analysis to fix the next session. The list of examples is educational and does not guarantee an open task today. To understand support, light and stability, follow the recording guide; to understand the destination of the data, refer to the humanoid robots guide.

Before you start
Can you record several chores in one session?
Use the category and instructions shown in the app. Washing dishes, folding laundry and organizing objects are different actions; do not assume they can be combined in one session. If the activity changes, check whether you must stop recording and select another task. An example in this guide does not make that task available in your account.
